Accounts Payable Clerk

SUMMARY

Compiles and maintains accounts payable records by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Entry of AP invoices for Dothan location
  • Matching of Purchase Order against invoices
  • Receiving of invoices
  • Audits freight bills against freight manifests.
  • Answers vendor inquiries.
  • Prepares onsite accounts payable checks.
  • Manages petty cash
  • Maintains accounts payable files.
  • Assists in monthly closings.
  • Assist with special projects as necessary.
  • Act as back-up to Production Administrative Assistant

Other duties will also include Assisting with Human Resources Department:

  • Assisting with new employee paperwork and onboarding.
  • Providing daily temp time.
  • Provide daily timeclock updates and reports.
  • Act as onsite HR liaison between Dothan site and HR Manager.

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILL

  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situation to customers, clients, and to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.


COMPUTER SKILLS

Should have knowledge of Accounting software; Mainframe Database software; Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Outlook Internet software; payroll systems. Strong Excel skills are a must.


REASONING ABILITY

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
