Summary

The Automation Programming Technician will assist in the programming and nesting of files for CNC cutting equipment. Ideal candidates have core skills in at least one of the following areas: fabrication, welding, manual machining, CNC machine operation, CNC machine programming, Robot operation, Robot programming, Electrical assembly, Field Electrical Wiring, or Electrical Troubleshooting. An Automation Technician is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks as supervision deems necessary. This position is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all safety standards and practices.
• Manage time, prioritize work, and perform in a fast-paced but fun environment while achieving cost-effective results within schedule.
• Programming and nesting CNC files for router, laser, and punch machine operation is the primary responsibility.
• Issuing of materials to jobs as nested.
• Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
• Assist in the study and setup of appropriate feeds and speeds of CNC machines.
• Help create a bend file library for new CNC bending equipment.
• Programming of files for building wood thermoforming molds.
• Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
• Potential to be assigned to other Managers or employees for short-term assignments.

Job Requirements:

• Age 18 or older.

• Experience with CNC equipment as an operator or programmer.
• CAD experience is a plus

• Must have 1 year experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc.)

• Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements.

• Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials.

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

• Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

• Must be willing to work within a team-orientated environment. Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), flexibility, and the ability to get along with others.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
