Estimator

SUMMARY

Ensures bids are accurate and estimates quantities of materials to purchase.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Return estimates within agreed upon timelines within the plant's established policy. Update estimating file accordingly.
• Breakout estimates for materials, outside costs, and labor types to allow for proper expense tracking.
• Ensure all part numbers are entered within agreed upon guidelines.
• Coordinate with Engineering/BOM writer within 3% maximum variance against actual design.
• Evaluate estimating standards against current equipment, methods, manpower staffing.
• Participate in program bids.
• Submit estimate analysis spreadsheet to Sales/Management.
• Coordinate and closely communicate with manufacturing, purchasing, sales, engineering and project management.
• Prepare inquiries to material supplies to obtain competitive pricing.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Sign Industry experience preferred
• 3-5 years estimating experience
• Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures required
• Strong ability to pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
