IT Support Technician

SUMMARY

Work with the Network Administrator to coordinate local area computer network activities by performing the following duties personally or through a supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide technical support to local and remote users of the Cummings' computer systems.
• Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support
• Answer incoming calls and determine their requirements.
• Track, route, and redirect problems to correct resources.
• Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
• Walk users through problem solving processes.
• Coordinate with other departments to complete requests.
• Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure.
• Recommended procedure modifications or improvements
• Maintains and record inventory.
• Schedule and conduct training sessions for users of the Cummings' Computerized Systems and Network.
• Processes cases for return/replacement requests in a timely manner.
• Load and update software applications as required.
• Willing to learn implementation, operation, and best practices of business-critical systems.
• Assist with onboarding new users.

• Knowledgeable with all Windows OS's and hardware installationtroubleshooting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and in tune with developing technologies.
• Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Background in a Multi-tasking challenging environment.
• Understanding of basic product testing principles.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Associates Degree (AS) in a computer science curriculum is a plus
• Comptia A+ and / or Network+ Certified is a plus
• Microsoft Certified is a plus
• Microsoft Azure experience is a plus
• Linux Server (RHEL) experience is a plus
• Knowledge or experience with programming languages is a plus

OTHER SKILLS

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and technical procedures
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and training procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, and users.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, and sit for long periods of time. The employee will also be asked to move equipment occasionally up to 25 lbs.

Periodic travel to other offices will be required, but is limited to <20% of the time.
