SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Team Lead supervises and coordinates activities of production and operations workers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Sets up machines and materials as needed.
• Performs activities of workers supervised.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in area of responsibility. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (AA or AS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractures and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
